It’s a one function piece of gear, and these days I look for multi function whenever possible. If you want to cook with it, there’s no handle. If you want to backpack, it’s bulky and doesn’t compress (smart water bottles paired with a sawyer squeeze filter are better & replaceable). The total weight is actually 7.7 ounces for the one I received and the total weight with the holding pouch is 10.5 ounces. I do like that the holding pouch helps to keep cold water cool for a couple of hours.All the above being said, this is a high quality canteen, and I’ve used it for years with no trouble with the cap as others mentioned.
