Do I add plaster to the water, or water to the plaster?

Always add plaster to water, never water to plaster. Sprinkling it in and letting it soak prevents dry lumps, which are almost impossible to stir out once the mix starts to set.

What can I use it for?

Casting and mould making, figurines, dioramas, sculpture, doll making and repairing plaster walls. It is also the classic choice for hobby casting into silicone or latex moulds.

How do I mix it? What is the water to plaster ratio?

Use roughly 4 parts plaster to 3 part water by volume. Add the plaster to the water a handful at a time, stir until smooth, then let it sit for one to two minutes before using.

Can I use it in silicone moulds?

Yes, it works very well in silicone moulds and picks up fine detail. Lightly mist or rinse the mould, pour slowly, then tap it to release trapped air bubbles. Let it set fully before demoulding.

Can I paint, colour or seal it after it dries?

Yes. Once fully dry you can paint it with acrylics, tempera or spray paint, and seal it with varnish or a clear acrylic sealer so it does not keep absorbing moisture and dust.

I've bought it several times. Highly recommended

Great value for the money. It dries extremely quickly so you have to work fast and don't try to add extra water to get extra product out of it because it'll only weaken the end result. But when it's mixed correctly, it hardens beautifully and the end result is a smooth solid product.
