Great quality
I got a cheap replacement shell but hated them, these are nothing like them. Such High quality, they feel just like official joy cons. They look great and so easy to get the screws back in. Looks really clean im so happy

A little difficult, but worth it!
First things first, if you're not used to taking apart and repairing complicated electronics with lots of little pieces and tiny wires, do not attempt this mod! Replacing both joy-con shells took a couple of hours to do, but following guides on sites like iFixit, it wasn't too bad. However, for the experienced and the brave, this is a very satisfying mod! I was worried the woodgrain would look a bit fake and tacky, but it looks fantastic! The soft rubber feel is quite comfy as well. So far, the shells have lasted for a few months without wearing down, but I mostly play my Switch in docked mode with a pro controller. I maybe play using the joy-cons when traveling or on the go, probably once every couple of weeks. Overall, I would recommend these if you're interested in customizing your Switch, but be prepared for a tricky job. Oh, and I would save the original shells in case you ever need to return the joy-cons for warranty repairs.

Overall, I'd give this a solid 4.6 out of 5, once assembled feels good
The process of swapping these out I would say is not difficult but it is just tedious / you just need to be really careful. If I had to guess I did it about 90 minutes being super careful along the way, doing it over again I could probably do it in about 45 or so, but would say I'm happy with the purchase and by using these I can preserve my ToTK ones \o/. Installation: Generally speaking the video covers it quite well. A few things that I would note specifically with the instructional video (assuming you Google'd o8QPB2uTbHk). 1.) At 4:54 when disconnecting the second wire this honestly terrified me a bit that I might break something. If you look at the controller from the side there is a black latch that you can lift carefully with a tiny flat head screwdriver so you're not just pulling it out, fear of tearing the ribbon cable. This is the same for the other controller as well. 2.) At 17:38, this is not a problem per-se but worth mentioning, the screws on the joystick (longer) and the ones that hold the board (shorter) to the housing are different lengths. During the break down we undid the board screws first, then the joystick. In re-assembly, it's the same order as disassembly vs the order mirrored. 3.) Lastly, I had a heck of a time trying to get the ribbon cable back in at 18:16, fat fingers maybe. Instead of doing the installation this way, I installed the ribbon cable first, then wrapped it back around the middle housing and screwed it back in there, much easier trying to get it in and the flap down. Quality: The housing feels good in my opinion / not really all that different from the out of box ones (red/blue ones). The buttons have a smoother feel than I would like compared to the original ones but certainly minor. During re-assembly I found one of the mount points stripped out, it's possible it was me doing too tightly but felt like the hole was larger than it should have been, the rest were no issues. Otherwise everything was quite precise / nestled in perfectly. Appearance: there are some differences in comparison to the NSTC SNES controller (personally preferred the lighter purple), however from an aesthetic point it's very acceptable. It came with extra purple buttons for home, +, -, and the camera button, but opted to keep the original black ones.
