Great back up.
My husband has terrible trouble with leg gramps. We keep this in the barn for emergencies.

Chihuahua Desert must have
We're in deep West Texas, in the Chihuahua Desert and that means real heat every day almost year round. It was 100 degrees today already. I am outside riding horses, working on the ranch, and hiking etc almost every day regardless of the weather. From April through November, we do not ever do stuff outside after noon or before 6pm simply because of the heat and sun. Extremely low humidity can lead to dehydration and heat exhaustion or worse before you even realize you're heading for trouble out here. (Sweat evaporates instantly) I keep heat sickness kits in our vehicles, at the barn, in my saddle bags and our hiking packs. This kit is pretty good. The electrolyte tablets are easy to carry and use in multiple circumstances. The cooling packs actually do work and I'm glad to carry one in my saddle bag for emergencies. The powdered drink mix is easy to mix with water and fit in backpacks nicely. This is definitely a kit we'll use.

Very important kit
At worksites and even during amateur sporting events, or just on really hot days, heat stroke can strike quickly and even be deadly. Most first aid kits carry little to help with this. Thus, as weather is getting hotter, this First Aid Only Heat Stress Kit (5250) is a critical addition. Keep your cool while in the heat and sun. During hot weather your body temperature can rise to dangerous levels if you don't stay hydrated and out of the sun. Heat stroke IS preventable. This Kit is OSHA compliant also. Contents: 4X Cold Pack, 4" x 5", Disposable Thermometer, 10 Electrolyte Drink Mix (add to cold water) 50 Electrolyte (salt) Tablets and more.

Excellent
This a good emergency kit for hot weather. It has a good variety of stuff - only thing missing is some actual water but it has enough room to toss in a couple small bottles.

Great for Summer Emergencies
I fortunately haven't needed to test the materials--it's too hot here yet--but I am prone to quick heat exhaustion so having this in my car for the summer provides added peace of mind. I also like it for my emergency evacuation supplies. I like that there are care instructions inside the kit for various levels of heat issues and treatments. Everything is compact and looks like it should work well. The cold packs especially can work for other emergencies but it's nice to have a pack that is simple and quick for specific needs that often arise for me more often than what larger first aid kits address.

Nice idea, but pricey and quality control is somewhat lacking
My husband is an industrial and commercial electrician who often finds himself working ten hour days in the summer heat so I take the risk of heat-related illness very seriously. It gives me some peace of mind to know this kit will be accessible on his job site if he or a coworker should need it. That said, I’m not convinced this is worth $26 as I could assemble a comparable set of supplies for considerably less. The brand name items shown in the product photos, namely Nexcare thermometers and EmergenC electrolyte powder, have been substituted in the kit I received. The disposable thermometers are unbranded, designed for forehead rather than oral use, and offer a much less precise measurement than Nexcare, with only six possible values (corresponding to 95, 96.8, 98.6, 100.4, 102.2, and 104 degrees Fahrenheit). One of the Squincher Zero electrolyte drink mix packets wasn’t fully sealed and leaked powder throughout the kit. The plastic case is sturdy, and instructions for identifying and providing aid for heat strokes, heat exhaustion, cramps, and heat rash are printed on a waterproof sticker on the inside of the lid. If this kit had contained the products depicted and all products were intact, this would be a five star purchase in my book.

Does not include everything listed
The only reason we chose these "Heat Stress Kits" is because of the electrolyte tablets it is supposed to have included in each one, as right now it has been difficult to find refills for our first aid kits. Although these kits arrived in a timely manner there was not a single electrolyte tablet in either of the kits, while the description clearly list 50 tablets is included. It's a waste of time to return the kits, buyer beware, if you're purchasing these kits for the contents, they are varying the contents without warning.
