Dropped right into my X58 EVGA Motherboard and fired right up with no problems. Mild overclock to 3.59Ghz with the stock intel cooler and away it went to encoding my live stream (OBS v21.1.2 [64bit] "Fast" encoding/1080P/60FPS, 9K bit rate (youtube)). I was able to get it to 4.0Ghz on air but it would run to hot in a 79F room (summer). I have a water cooler for it once I get some time. Would buy again if I needed a second one. Review: It's still a beast.......but it's old with only 6 Cores and 12 threads. - This processor is a beast and would be better with two that are working on the EVGA SR 2 Mobo but instead CPU 1 was bricked so one is doing the heavy lifting but doesn't need to work hard in the workstation, as of yet, because it's one that's used to study with.
