Has anyone done a simple test like throwing this over a home wifi box to see if the signal disappears?

My wife and i did the cellphone test. ( put cell under blanket and try to call that cell). Seems to block signal, which is what we hoped for as my wife is currently pregnant. She drapes over belly while doing work on ipad to protect baby.

If I cut it and put it between my phone and the case would give protection from emf without affecting the phone's activity?
