I belong to a pastel artists group and have started trying out Pan Pastels. These tools are really necessary and give you a lot of control without all the dust. I tried using a paint brush but that just made the dust sit on the surface, with these tools you can make all sorts of marks and blend. They do wear out so you'll need a good supply, especially if you are working on something with a good amount of tooth like Pastelmat, which I also highly recommend. Buy these, you won't be sorry!

I bought these to use specifically for my pan pastels. What a difference after struggling with cue tips! Even on the harder stick pastels. The application comes to a whole new level. They help base a shade and do full backgrounds. They made my art work so much easier. The best part is they are reusable! I highly recommend them!

If you want to use PanPastels, you'll need these sponge-type tools and the instruments in which to insert and use them. Various ones help get a fine, sharp edge in your paintings. Some blend, some soften. Try them and you'll see what I mean.

Das Set ist üppig mit verschiedenen Schwämmen und Schwämmchen ausgestattet. Diese passen hervorragend zu Panpastel Pigmenten. Man kann beinahe alles damit zeichnen und dann in Malerei verwandeln. Sie sind allesamt waschbar und trocknen in überschaubarer Zeit. Die Haltbarkeit der Schwämme ist nicht bei allen Schwämmen gleich: Die kleinen Schwämmchen, insbesondere jenen, die auf die Plastikhalterungen aufgezogen werden, halten nicht wirklich lange. Die sind nach wenigen Einsätzen durch und müssen dann entsorgt werden. Die großen Schwämme sind deutlich haltbarer, werden aber auch weniger eingesetzt, weil sich der größere Teil der Zeichenarbeit im teuflischen Detail abspielt. Insgesamt aber sind diese kleinen Helferlein ein geniales Set, das ich definitiv nachbestellen würde, wenn ich Nachschub bräuchte.

Very useful rang of sponges. Quite expensive

They just worked really well at creating nuanced pieces through blending. Soft and Hard Pastel is really forgiving. The applicators were great for laying down dominant areas and undercoats. They were also good for mixing subsequent colours over one another and preserved some hard pastel lines. When I want to try a mix on the paper, I use these.
