Does what it's supposed to, does it well, easy to clean
This is one of those purchases where you might wonder if you really need one more thing in the kitchen that really only has one job. In this case however I was tired of making some sort of pressing contraption with whatever containers and weights I had lying around. And sometimes (most of the time) I forget I need to press tofu until it's too late to do a good job. This is easy to use, and easy to clean. It's sized to fit any of the commercial tofu products you are likely to find in your local grocer store, so using it takes no more than drop in the block, close the lid, and start applying pressure. I also like the feature that allows me to drain liquid without opening or disassembling the press. My usual process is to start pressing, come back in 10 minutes to drain, and increase the pressure a bit. Repeat until done. There have been some other comments about the press cracking the tofu and I think that's what happens when too much pressure is applied to quickly. This is effective at getting the water out in a short time, so I haven't found that it really takes extra time to press in a couple of stages. It's still faster and more consistent than anything I'd made myself. The fact that there is an extra lid to use it as a marinating containers is a good feature as well; anything that prevents me from having to wash an additional item is a win in my book. The materials of construction seem sturdy and well made. I haven't had it long enough to evaluate durability over time, but from what I can see I don't anticipate any issues.

Great multifunctional tofu press
It certainly works for pressing firm or extra firm tofu. The drainage holes on the lid make it easy to pour out excess water and the porous insert makes it easy to insert or take out the tofu. The Tupperware lid is also great for storage and is water tight so it’s perfect for marinading and mixing. The body itself is very sturdy plastic. It all feels well made and I can throw it onto my top rack in the dishwasher as well. I’ve also used this to store leftover salad since it was perfect for draining the excess liquid in cucumbers and tomatoes and other watery vegetables and keeping the veggies raised up out of the liquid. I’m sure there are other similar uses I could find for this as well, like rinsing veggies. My only complaint is that you do need to center the tofu when you screw the lid down as it’s easy to have the press lopsided without equal weight distribution. Not a big deal, but there is potential for a slightly better design that can more reliably distribute weight from the press when it’s screwed down all the way.

Easy to use
For years I have did the old paper towels with added weight to press my tofu and finally snagged me this tofu press. Let me tell you I'm in love! I don't know why I didn't buy one sooner. This particular one is very sturdy and held up under the pressure of the spring quite well. It successfully AND QUICKLY removed the liquid from my tofu perfectly. I love the alternate lid that can be used to marinate after pressing without dirtying another container. I have used this on 3 different firmness of tofu and it performs awesome for each. The only slight down side is the lid latches just fold over and grab the lip of the container without an actual locking mechanism so when under the pressure of the spring be sure NOT to attempt to lift the latches before you turn the spring back up to starting position or you will have the press lid flying toward you. Overall I'm satisfied with how well the product is made and performs. Absolutely recommend!

Mess free! Works great!
I’m very happy with the way this works. A very good value for the price, attractive style, easy to use dial method, and no more squashed, messy tofu on my towels! Makes whatever thickness you desire. Photo is of extra firm tofu at the beginning of the press.

Works really well
I found this product really easy to use and easy to clean. Yes, there are a few parts to it, but it's only 3. it's not like it's got 6 parts or something to wash. you just give them a little swish with a soapy sponge then rinse and put them in your dish rack, it's really no big deal. I liked that the product allows me to adjust the pressure and has a stopping point. I buy extra firm tofu, so i was only pressing it for around 30-45 minutes. with this press, you can only GO SO FAR. which means, you know when it's done pressing. you cant press tofu to death in this thing. so you can't overdo it, is what i'm saying. i emptied the water as i went. you could probably leave it, but i feel like it's just better if you check on it every 10 minutes or so and empty the water as you go, so it doesn't reabsorb. i press around 2 bricks back to back so i do not use it to marinate, because i'm using a different container to marinate because i've got a brick ready to go before i'm pressing the second brick. It can drip, there is no seal in the press lid. so there is a little bit of drippage. you get used to it and are more careful the second time you use it due to that. the reason there is no seal is because it is trying to drain something, so air needs to escape and also it's easier to wash without a seal there, no mold will form over time. trust me, it is a good thing that there is no seal on the top of the press. it doesn't need one. the marinating lid does have a press, which is good because that's when you need a seal.

Easy to use, easy to clean!
Easy to use, easy to clean! I like that I can use the same container to press and then marinate our tofu. The tofu air fried up much better after using this press and it also saves on a bunch of paper towels! So easy and no mess

High quality, well built, very good value at this price
I'm impressed at the high quality of this tofu press, especially considering the very reasonable price. The materials feel top notch, and everything fits together perfectly. I used it for the first time tonight and it worked well. I can't say it worked perfectly because the tool and the chef work together as a team. It was my first experience, so I think I could have done better. It's hard to get a block of tofu out of an aseptic package intact, and as I usually do, I broke off a corner. Even though I replaced it, when I pressed the tofu block in this press, it (not surprisingly) pressed better on the non-broken side. On the broken side, it didn't compress as much, since the broken piece provided less resistance to the press. Another tip: when I put the tofu in the press, I immediately cranked the spring pressure all the way down. I ended up pressing the tofu for at least an hour. It certainly squeezed out a lot of liquid, but the tofu block was fractured in many places. The next time I use it, I will start by keeping the spring at the top and will compress it for 15 minutes or more, then slowly increase the spring pressure until it's all the way down, maybe for an hour or more. I suspect that slowly and gradually increasing the pressure will result in less fracturing. It really does remove a lot of liquid! My tofu block looked like it was half as thick. I think this is a great product, especially at this very reasonable price, and I'm happy with my purchase.

Super good tofu press and marinade container
I had another “clamp top” tofu press and getting the top on took 2 adults to wrestle it to submission - it had to go! I tried this one and it worked GREAT! Easy to clamp top to base, no wrestling needed! Also no finger pinching - iykyk! The twist handle on top was simple to use, effectively pressed tofu well. I love the grid pattern on the easy lift out platform the tofu is on - my cut cubes were like works of art! Also love that you can marinate right in the press by removing the platform. Can’t beat an easy to use, effective and multifunctional kitchen tool!

Best Tofu Press
Excellent! Press the tofu and then marinate in the same container. I think it’s the best!

Simple to use
Those first two 5 star reviews were oddly worded... when the grammar is off I wonder if the manufacturer has people buy the product then review it? Not me, I took a chance on it when there were no reviews. It arrived alarmingly fast, less than two days! Works very well, seems sturdy. I was able to press two slabs of tofu at once. Drain, turn the screw a bit more... did this several times and had two slabs of super firm tofu. Also doubles as a marinade tray. It comes with cheese cloth, but no real instructions on why, other than suggesting making your own cheese. I was able to put enough pressure on the tofu I admit I wondered whether it would blow apart, but the clamps are very sturdy and held without issue. Overall I recommend this press.

Good quality, would recommend
Easily the best tofu press. I have tried so many presses but they always break or are flimsy and don’t work. After about three years of use it’s still working as well as the day I bought it after using it 2-3 times a month
