Barleans to me equals quality and a name that I've trusted since I started supplementing my diet over 20 years ago. Evening primrose is a great way to create hormonal balance and comfort during your moon cycle. Less cramps, better mood, the list goes on. Do your research and see if it's a good fit for you, then buy Barleans, don't mess around with lesser products. Wishing you comfort and health.✌️

The ONLY problem I have with Baarlean's Evening Primrose Oil softgels is that the ingredient list is invariably covered by the 1-1/2" x 3" bar code sticker. There is NO sticker covering the advertisement, but I never read those anyway. I do, however, often...well, always...refer to the ingredients and the volume of those ingredients on my supplements. The covering of the lawful disclosure of the ingredients is very important, and shouldn't be covered up! Other than that issue, like I said, I subscribe to these, and they are great!

I've been taking these for a couple of weeks now as per the instructions on the bottle. I started taking them because I am going through the beginning stages of menopause and I have some uncomfortable symptoms. The usual PMS like stuff with hot flashes added in for fun. No one told me that menopause is like PMS on steroids...sheesh. Anyway, in my never ending effort to use natural remedies I read about EPO and decided to give it a try. I started taking them at the beginning of my ever lengthening cycle. Well...so far so good. My symptoms are noticeably better and my skin has improved a bit. They seem to be working, but I will take the whole bottle (and go through a whole hormone cycle) before I give a full 5 star review. UPDATE: September 27, 2014-Truly helps with the uncomfortable hormonal symptoms and skin dryness. I will be buying more.

I purchased this product believing in the reputation of Barlean’s. I have purchased their fresh catch fish oil since it is in liquid rather than capsules and use it regularly. I did a search on some of the free import/export websites and came across several entries of Barlean’s Organic Evening Primrose and discovered several imports from China. I am referring to my lot #30-018 Exp. Jan 2020 purchased on Amazon June 13, 2017. Another poster revealed that the capsule shell contained caramel color. I can report that my lot does not have the caramel color. If your product was the caramel color, I would be concerned especially if the caramel was made in China. One of the posters had concerns about synthetic caramel being carcinogenic. Anyway, I will not take this product and return it for a refund. I will revise my 1 star rating if the product is not made in China and a product of the USA as stated on the label. It seems that Barlean’s was sent a warning letter from the FDA in June 2001 (Ref. No. SEA 0156) for various violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act for selling misbranded products. “Dear Mr Barlean: We inspected your firm, located at 4936 Lake Terrell Rd, Ferndale, WA, on November 6, 7, and 9, 2000, and found that you have serious violations concerning the marketing of various organic seed oils and encapsulated oil products, in accordance with Sections 505, 502, and 403 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) and Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR).” Now, I am skeptical of their products. We all have heard of horrible stories of products imported from China and I would rather purchase Made in U.S.A. provided the labeling is truthful. The Product of USA is in my opinion false advertising and should be reported to the FTC if it is correct. I am sharing my right to free speech about this product that I purchased and it is in conformance with Amazon’s rules for product review.
