It looks like plastic. How does it get tacky?

There is a clear plastic film on each overgrip that needs to be removed when you put it on the grip.

is the xtreme grip a true vibrant rich red or more like a watermelon pinkish red?

The red color in the picture is fairly accurate. I personally think it is a vibrant red, but I am not sensitive to color details.

It includes a little adhesive on the tip to start it. It includes 3 strips of tape to hold the end down. But besides that overgrip is to be frequently replaced. On the other had, replacement grip is totally held down by adhesive.
