What is the issue and has it been corrected?** A: They are level if you put it on correctly. Some guys just want to put it in the hitch and not use the added bracket lock that keeps it sturdy and locked in the hitch tightly. **Q: Will this fit a 2008 Tacoma double cab? How big is the step?** A: Yes. Anything with a 2" hitch. **Q: Why does this product rattle after installation?** A: One reason can be that the 2" Square hitch does not fit tightly into the receiver. This is a common problem and actually makes it easy to insert the hitch end into the receiver. But this does allows the hitch to "rattle" in the receiver. My hitch step came with a bracket that locks the hitch tight to the receiver so it does not rattle, and it works well even though it is an extra piece of hardware to install. According to the picture, it is the "U" shaped bracket and plate on the left. You should check to see if that came with the step bumper and install it to stop the "rattling".
