would this hold 12 cupcakes?

Depends on the cupcake size. If they’re regular cupcakes, you might only be able to fit 6. I use the 16 inch size for 12 kolaches.

Can this withstand juice from flan?

Not really because depending on how long its is sitting in the package it starts deteriorating. I recommend a plastic container to relieve the headaches.

Overall does the job

I use these for cake pops and other sweet treats. They are sturdy and work well but the clear film can become flimsy and loose. I use scotch tape to seal any edges to the box.

This is a nice size box for half a dozen decorated sugar cookies in cello bags. I added excelsior first so the cookies wouldn't slide around too much. I notice they sell excelsior at Dollar Tree in different colours
