I rate toys using a 3 category system. I look at their entertainment value, durability, and creativity. Every toy needs to keep a child's attention, be able to stand up to their rough playing, and either promote their creativity or be used to play in creative ways. I'll start with a short review and then explain my reasons for the rating in detail. The wooden box and pieces are very durable, although they are small and easy to lose if you don't keep track of them. The difficulty level of the puzzles are minimal but its still fun for young children because the pictures are cute. With that being said, this puzzle set will be a mom's FAVORITE because of its ease of storage and the ease of sorting the pieces. ENTERTAINMENT: My daughter is 3 years old and loves puzzles. She can do them for hours and never get bored. When I bought this, entertainment was never in question. She did figure them out very quickly, but she can put together 48 piece puzzles by herself, and needs very little help with 100 piece puzzles, so I didn't expect that these would be difficult for her, but she still loves to put them together none the less. DURABILITY: These are wooden puzzles in a wooden box. You can't bend them or destroy them. The picture on the top is secured well and doesn't peel. The box itself is very well made and the sliding top is easy for both my daughter and my 2 year old son to open and close. The only con is how small it is. The pieces are little and its easy for them to slide under the bed or toy box. I have to count the pieces when we put them away to ensure that one has not gone missing. A puzzle missing a piece is not all that fun. CREATIVITY: This is where the giant positive comes in. Puzzles promote hand eye coordination, problem solving, and creativity no matter what they are made of or what the picture is. That's not the reason why I love these puzzles so much, though. Melissa & Doug get a HUGE round of applause for their creativity on this one because of how they made these puzzles. The Box is where I start clapping for Melissa & Doug. The lid of the box has a lip on it so you can put the puzzle together on the top of it without the pieces sliding off like it would on the coffee table. Its also pretty thick so the pieces separate when you put a new one in its place like it would on carpet. That's pretty awesome. Also, when you open the box, its divided into 4 sections so you can separate the puzzle pieces into their own little sections when you go to put them away. Here's where I shoot up out of my seat for standing ovation. Each puzzle has a red shape stamp assigned to it; a circle, triangle, diamond, or square. Every piece of each puzzle has a stamp on the back of it to identify which puzzle it goes to. So even when the pieces are scattered all around the room, my kids can easily identify which puzzle it goes to and put them away ON THEIR OWN. That's right, a 2 year old and 3 year old can clean up their own mess. BRAVO! BRAVO! ENCORE! ENCORE! So in conclusion, I love this puzzle!

As a mom, I can't recommend the Melissa & Doug Vehicles 4-in-1 Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles enough! With 48 sturdy pieces, these puzzles have quickly become a favorite in our house. My grandson loves his puzzles, had me on the floor with him to see what he could do. Perfect for 3 to 4 yrs of age

For my 4 year old nephew for Christmas, he loves messing w my puzzles so I got him his own. Quality seems good so far I’m not gonna open it till he does but I’m assuming all the pieces are there, comes with a box to do the puzzle on top of and to storage the pieces. There are 4 - 12 piece puzzles seems easy and fun

Each puzzle is really small, so it's good for travel. All of the edge pieces have markings that help you solve the puzzle, which is important as there is no useable guide image -- just a tiny image of each all printed onto one page. The images on the puzzle pieces are a bit on the small side for my elderly dad (turns out kid's puzzles are good for adults with cognitive issues too), but he is still able to do them. The storage box is helpful and the pieces are easy to pick up and piece together. Some of the pieces are incorrectly coded on the back, but I was able to easily fix those with a red Sharpie.

Gift for a 4 year old.

My two year old loves these and we try to keep away from battery operated toys in his room so these have been great. Pictures look great and love the little box it comes in.

These are smaller than I thought but great for little hands.

Purchased this for my young one when he was close to 2. A very well built woodlen puzzle with nice finishing, colors which dont fade away or chip off like normal wooden toys and pieces which really fit well. My young one has placed with this numerous times and he still loves to play with it after almost a year. Though little expensive as compared to puzzles available in India, I highly recommend this toy for anyone wishing to gift their kid quality puzzle time.

It's a nice set. The kids love it - I also love the illustrations and the storage box, but the jigsaw pieces easily separate from each other which creates huge frustrations from the little ones! Also, there are four jigsaw puzzles per box and although there are small shapes (e.g. circle, square, triangle, etc) drawn on the back of each piece, to know which piece belongs to which jigsaw, it would have been better if the back of each jigsaw were a different colour; it'd be easier for the little ones to sort them out.
