Am I missing something? What's with the pink frogs???

This designer is known for using frogs in his sets. It's not uncommon in the Lego world to use other pieces to represent something else. Like the Chinese Lantern Festival has blue bananas on the top of gazebo/pavilion.

Those are frogs right?

Your eyes are right, those are pink frogs! - Michael, LEGO® Customer Service

Is this product lego bricks?

This bonsai tree is compatible with Lego, tenhorses bricks follow Lego bricks standards. Many people buy Lego succulents 10309, Lego orchids 10311 are combined together, They are all great for home decoration.

How many pieces are used to actually finish the tree (either the green one or pink one). The set comes with 878 pieces, but how many are "leftover"?

Hi there! As the set can be custom arranged, the remaining pieces will depend on the season you have chosen. You can check the parts list at the end of the building instructions on LEGO.build/BI-Amazon and see how many pink or green pieces are listed! - Sonia, LEGO® Customer Service
