I bought this backpacking stove to backpack Havasupai Falls in the Grand Canyon. I looked at some of the other cheap backpacking stoves, but I thought this one was just the right price. It is a higher quality construction than many of the others, its brass construction and the three prong stove top with the fold out extensions balances the pots better than the four prong stoves. I knew I needed a light-weight backpacking stove to take on my Havasupai trip and the Volcano Lite Burner and 4 piece pot set worked perfect! The burner and the pot set all nestle together in the carrying bag and fit perfectly in my backpack with all my other backpacking gear. I boiled water for cooked Mountain House meals and rice for 7 days on a standard 230 g propane/butane mix tank. I was worried that I would run out of gas, but this stove is efficient and boils water in just a couple minutes. This stove did not disappoint, my canister lasted my full trip and I still had some gas to finish off on my Canyoneering trip in Zion National Park the week later! You can fork over hundreds for a Jetboil, but what I saw with the other people on my trip with different stoves was my Volcano Lite was just as efficient and boiled water in the same amount of time as the much more expensive counter-product. I am excited to take this backpacking stove and pot set with all my trips in the backcountry, I plan on taking this awesome stove with me for many years to come. From backpacking to canyoneering and everything in-between. This stove will not disappoint.
