These work great, and were fun to play with - but honestly can't really think of a place for this yet. I have a feeling it'll end up somewhere around my next car's engine as I start fiddling with ECU's for the first time ;) For now, a pair of them pointed at the 3D printer "just in case" though, honestly, I don't think I've heard of a 3D printer ever catching fire without some serious stupid being involved.

Worked as described
Worked well. Potentiometer is a little wonky but it gets the job done.

The digital 'alarm' output potentiometer was a bit finnicky to adjust, detection angle is relatively narrow but that's a good thing in most applications. Otherwise excellent. Coding tips: high output voltage = good, low output voltage = fire.

Most of them work (my team and I bought 6 and only one was finicky, but even then it wasn't a major issue as the sensitivity was easily adjusted). Would buy again from SunFounder

I do not know if it actually works because the cable that came with the sensor has only 3 pins and the sensors needs 4. I mean I can make my own connector but this not the what I wanted to do.
