They measure the circumference found at the knuckle that is closest to the finger tip. **Q: Do you think these would work for being a manicurist, I get marks from filing** A: It is a rubber material and would probably be uncomfortable for you. **Q: Can you type with these on?** A: I have these. They are brilliant! I an ambidextrous. I use them on the thumb and index finger on both hands at the same time.
