A light cable would fit easily through the belt loop if I read your question correctly. Very nice pouch, keep a notepad and pen in one section, and my cellphone in the front, and miscellaneous items in the back section.

Will an iphone 12 pro max fit in front pocket?

I don't know. The iphone 11 pro max really doesn't fit well into front pocket, but it's a large phone (3 1/4" x 6 3/8" approximately). It fit half way. You mean the flap closure pocket, right?
