Can these be used for Ultimate Frisbee?

Honestly you'd be better off with cleats. If others have cleats, they'll be quicker at shifting directions. I use the speedcross' for disc golf though and they handle well on trails, roots, rocks and grass. Comfy for light hiking too when you don't need hiking boots. If it is a casual game of ultimate and most other people are just rocking tennis shoes, these would probably give you an advantage. In a league, get cleats.

I'm on my feet on concrete floors all day, and these shoes have made a huge difference for my knees because they are so impact-absorbent. The traction is amazing, too, reducing slipping on icy or wet pavement drastically

The sole is not flat, it is nobby. They are also very grippy on concrete. But I don't feel disconnected from the pedals when I drive; the sole isn't that thick.
