If you're here to get one, you probably have watched the videos on YouTube or a friend using one. Both, in my case. Then finally, I decided to have the White Matt large 32oz, that means 10 tbs of coarse ground coffee if I wanted max ☕️. The double mesh filters are 9x and 12x finer than ordinary press, and ordered the paper filters as well as a spare (these are pending delivery). It's recommended you get these with your first order so you don't have too much to wait. The Espro7 arrived a whole week ahead of schedule, thanks to Prime membership. The box did arrive with dented edges but I was confident this would not affect the item within. Amazon could have done a better job with packing but I'm all for minimising plastic wrap use. The quality of the finished product is as good as advertised and looks terrific on the tabletop. I can't review the coffee here - that can be so subjective. But users of the large should note that the recommended steeping time (95 deg boiling water poured into the press with freshly coarse ground grains inside), should be about 4-5 minutes before using the plunger with an even pressure. Some claim to simply leave the plunger longer, and one said 3 mins was enough. See what I meant? 😂 So it depends what degree to sweetness or acidity you prefer, and beans you use. As for what coarse grains should look like, Bruce Constantine of Espro says the depressions in the logo on the top of the press should be able to perfectly fit the grains. Good tip there. Unfortunately someone has given me medium ground coffee, but I've found it works just as well. Always use both filters. The second filter screws out to be removed for better washing, especially with dishwashers. Enjoy. It's a product I definitely recommend if you're a fan of French Presses, or like me, want an alternative to V60 style and a larger output than the Moka induction makers I still use. Nothing like having a variety of coffee makers to suit your mood and volume needs.

I've had it now for a couple years. I upgraded from a glass french press which would crack on me annually. I'm pleased this one continues to serve me well.

The paint is chipping off this after just three months of use. I have stopped using it since I do not like my coffee with paint chips in it. The box says it is safe on the top rack of the dishwasher, but even the lid which was only on the top rack is ruined. I also ended up having to clean the paint out of the dishwasher. I contacted the Espro warranty email several weeks ago and received no response, so I am stuck with this and unable to use it. The coffee was pretty good while I could use it, but honestly it isn't worth the money and they clearly haven't tested the paint very well. I am actually able to get it to chip off just by running it under the tap.

Not happy with this French press. It comes with two filter baskets eventually. It was causing way too much grit. I had to remove one of the baskets. It works better with just the one basket. Still, no matter how coarse I made the grind, I couldn’t access all of the coffee. With one basket you get one 10oz clean cup. After that you get roughly 8ozs with a gritty bottom. I’m also finding I can’t access the last 8oz of coffee. It’s just wasted. It takes 5 scoops to make a pot. So it is very wasteful with my expensive roasts. I have tried letting it settle and lifting the basket a little. None of it works. 8oz always wasted. For the price this should work way better than it does. My $20 metal mesh French press does a better job. My method is slow pour over, steep for 1 minute, stir to break the crust, steep for 3 minutes, press. It keeps the coffee piping hot, but that’s the only part I’m happy with.
