The Codex

The book is definitely written with an eye towards an eventual Hollywood adaptation - one wonders if he was working on the screenplay at the same time, but that being so this is still an enjoyable mystery/adventure. Three sons find their father has disappeared (along with all his wealth!) and he's left them a video 'from beyond the grave' telling them he's hidden all his loot. The race is then on to track it down. With belief completely suspended, the action is fast paced and readable. A typical Douglas Preston romp

Quite bemused that this book (2004) with it's Lost city archaeological site in Honduras, is the same place currently under discussion in his latest work, the Lost City of the Monkey God.

Konnte das Buch praktisch nicht aus der Hand legen, super spannend.Lieferung war fix, im Buchladen hätte ich drei Wochen drauf warten müssen, so hatte ich es innerhalb von zwei Tagen. Rundum happy.
