The cats LOVE it!
This was a great deal! $5 for endless kitty amusement. I really like the stems, they are a little fluffy and the striped colors are excellent. If I was still making pipe-cleaner animals I'd choose these over the plain colors. However, the purpose for this batch was to entertain my 4 cats (1 kitten). Scrunch the stems so they are springy, or just throw them on a slippery surface, and the cats will chase them all over the place. I was a little worried they might try to chew the ends and hurt themselves, but this hasn't been a problem. (They do like chewing them, but it seems safe.) I also gave some to a friend with 2 cats, and his cats also go wild over the stems. The stems don't really wear out, so as long as you can fish them out from under the fridge they should last for ages. A fantastic buy!

These are great - the best I've found so far
These are great - the best I've found so far. They're sturdy, the colors are pretty natural, and there are almost none with defects per package (I've bought this twice). I use pipe cleaners to make math models a lot, so my fingers tend to hurt after a while, and these are quite soft compared to some others (but they still keep their shape well), which is good for my purposes. I've also worked with small children with these, and no complaints. They come sorted by color. Colors pretty much match the photos on my computer screen. The first pic is something I made that took a ton of pipe cleaners, but my fingers didn't hurt as much as when I used stiffer ones. (Yay!) They second pic is to show they hold shape well. All the pipe cleaners are from this set.

Great value, not so great color selection. Good quality. Good for child play.
This is an excellent value! In evaluating them you need to keep in mind that these are 4 mm wide, rather than the stndard 6 mm. So they are narrower. But they also cost half the price of 6 mm stems. I make cat toys with a variety of styles of stems to distribute at a local shelter. I do keep an eye on per item cost although it does not rule me completely. Various widths, colors, fluffiness and stiffness are considerations and all are useful to me. These stems are quite soft to work with, which I would think would make them get for children. I am giving a four instead of a five because I am somewhat disappointed in the colors I received. Specifically, three of the nine colors are black, very dark brown and extremely dark green. At first I thought I had three back bundles. The other colors were better: white, red, yellow, a nice lavender, orange and maybe blue, can't remember for sure. The picture shows bright colors and although some of the colors are bright overall the box is definitely on the dark side. The colors themselves are "good"' in that the brights are bright, the white is very white, etc. also bear in mind that you can twist two together and get an 8 mm diameter for the price of a 6 mm stem.

Nice quality for my projects
Good quality stems that work well for my projects. I crochet over them to make coral and seaweeds, they make great stems for the crocheted flowers and leaves I make...lots of good project pieces. I was slightly disappointed that there were not more colors used rather than 100+ of some colors. Overall, good quality for good price.

A great selection of colors and good value for your money.
I like the wide selection of colors and they appear to be of good quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are seperated by color as the picture appears to show them mixed together randomly. Overall I would buy these again and have no problem recommending them as a good value and quality product...

These are great!
Didn't know what to expect at first. These were called 'used'. How do you use a chenille stem and then reuse? But the ad said they were 'like new' - so that was good enough for me to try them. A great price ($1000 for around $10) - the best I could do locally was 45 stems for $1. So I ordered them, hoping for the best. Am I ever surprised by my delivery today. The stems came neatly packed in a box. There were 9 bundles of different colors, and each colored bundle was neatly stacked with a firm rubber band holding the stack together. If these are used, I don't know what for - they look as good as anything that I have seen in the stores. They are also a little longer than what I have been finding. If you need chenille stems - I would highly recommend these. I will be ordering a few more boxes, as they are greatly needed, I was just a little hesitant of a used stem. Don't be hesitant - order them!
