Recomended from an avid detailer
So I have used this Astro Branded color match light for about 4 months and on 2 full paint corrections and a few spot corrections. When I purchased it there were only about 5 reviews on Amazon which were good but limited. As of today there are 36 reviews that are mostly glowing and for good reason. This light is actually marketed more for bodyshops to replicate natural sun light and aid in paint matching. I can however attest that it does a great job for spotting paint imperfections most notably swirls, spider trails, acid rain spots, ect. For the price point it works amazingly well especially considering that similar lights cost close to twice as much. What sets this light apart: 2 brightness settings Rechargeable with a base station much like a cordless phone. Features a charge indicator bar. Folding hanger hook. Has a magnetic base on the light. This last feature is very handy as you can place the light on panels with an adjustable head so that you can focus the light to the area you are working on for paint correction or under the hood of a car when doing engine work. Once fully charged I have been able use this off and on for a good 4 hours without running out of charge. If your in the market for a good swirl finder light or even a shop light with the magnetic base and small retractable hanger hook for less than $70 it is hard to beat. It also has a nice weight to it and feels good in the hand. If I had a complaint it would be that the base has little weight so you have to hold the base with one hand while pulling the light out with the other.

It’s a tough little light woth a strong magnet
This is a great light. I was installing a supercharger on my Jeep and accidentally left it on the front bumper between the front grill and my winch. I didn’t realize it was there for a month, drove it dailey through rain and shine. The magnet held and it was still charged to around 50%. It still takes a charge and works great. If your irresponsible like me and accidentally leave it stuck on your car chances are that it will be right where you left it and in perfect working condition the next time you wash the vehicle find it. I use it when working on my vehicles and for detailing. Great brightness and reveals paint imperfections like a champ. 3.5 year update: this is an awesome light!! Still running strong and if it ever dies I will buy another one. I have absolutely abused this thing. I accidentally left it under my jeep stuck to the frame and drove it 50 miles and guess what. It was still there. 100% irresponsible and 100% satisfied.

One of those tools that's indispensible in print/sign shops!
Excellent for color matching Pantone colors for vinyl printing in our shop. Price is great for such a good and BRIGHT light. Testing with the Pantone D50 lighting indicator (found in the back of most Pantone color swatch books) shows that the light output is very close to daylight with almost no discernible difference between the two swatches. We do a lot of color matching for reproducing graphics on older RV's and trailers when no longer available from manufacturers, and find this light makes the job so much easier, especially when the trailers are inside dealership service departments where lighting is substandard. Whip this light out, grab the proper swatch books and find the right color instantly! We even use it in the shop while the printer is running! I've found colors slightly off while printing the first couple of inches of vinyl and able to stop the machine to adjust our colors or check our printheads for clogged ink nozzles, rather than printing many feet of vinyl, only to find its incorrect (which happens in every sign shop).

This is actually pretty great
This light seemed pretty expensive for a flashlight, but it came highly recommended on Reddit detailing forum, so I took the risk. I have never heard of the brand, but it is definitely A company that takes pride in their work. This thing is solid, heavy, and reveals paint details that I have never noticed in a car that I have owned for five years. It's kind of crazy what a high CRI, or color rendering index, light can do. In addition to having a surprisingly good light, this thing has a magnet on the back which is strong enough to hang it from any position, despite its weight. It can also bend the base so that you can get the ideal position without needing to hold it, as long as you have nearby made of steel or iron. It did pinch my finger when I unbent the base, so be careful where your hands are.

Astro 50SL Superior To Scangrip
Better than the Scangrip. Both price and effectiveness. I work for a paint manufacturing company who only uses Scangrip Sunmatch Handheld Lights for color evaluation. I wanted one for myself so I bought the Astro 50SL. I got it today while I was at work and was able to put it to the test right out of the box. I read the same panel side by side and color rendering is certainly superior with the Astro. Magnets are just as strong if not stronger and has the same range of motion from its pivot point when stood vertically from the magnetic base. Handheld weight is the same as the Scangrip. Truly, it has all of the qualities of a $150 Scangrip and more. As a technical representative for my company who evaluates high performance automobile and power sports paint on a daily basis, go with the Astro and save yourself money with this.

Good for entry level
It’s operational and sufficient to get you a almost professional degree of lighting. What I mean by this is that it’ll help find defect/swirls on dark colored vehicles, but on white/silver/tan it’s too much Into a white color tone than a much more needed yellow. I’ve been using it for pre inspections and also when doing a final walk through with a customer after we’ve detailed their vehicle.

I honestly don’t believe there is a better light for paint inspection. Ordered from the US to the UK took a gamble and I couldn’t be happier. Only slight problem is the wall plug is wrong, obviously, but not a big deal.

Very bright. Works well when looking for automotive paint mottling.

This a super light, it is replacing a $1600 3M sun gun and this is so much better and the low price is a great bargain!

Sounds silly bit if you are trying to match or check colour on anything you needs this pocket sunshine device,, because thats what is really is a way of illuminating something in daylight as opposed to artificial light.
