This is the best solution I have found of many I've tried. I use them in my business to remote the video and mouse controls away from security system video recorders. My systems use a mouse but no keyboard. It does seem like it makes a difference which of the two USB ports I use for the wireless mouse dongle. I've not had good luck with cheaper extenders or extenders that can only be powered from one end.
