Easy installation. My install required a small notch cut with a file in the door hole on the outside for lock to swing in to place. Common issue when replacing RV locks. Nice seal on outside that should keep water from entering through lock. Follow directions supplied if this is your first RV lock install. When you put the 2 halves together you have to make sure everything is in the right position to make lock function properly. Appears to be well made metal lock set replacing an electronic lock where the key pad had completely disintegrated due to exposure. I decided to get a standard RV lock that I believe will hold up better. I like how smoothly the lock opens and closes. I like the 4 keys supplied. Can’t speak to longevity yet but RV locks must be properly lubricated periodically to keep them operating smoothly. Use only DRY lube specific for use in locks. FYI. First few times I put keys in the lock they did not slide into lock smoothly. It loosened up after a few times. I will update should I encounter any problems with this lock.

I just got this in and I put it on my camper rather quickly. I was happy to replace the plastic lock that came with the camper with this metal lock, so far so good. I really liked the packaging, It was very nice and it had great instructions and plenty of hardware if needed. It seems to work well and the keys work well although they were a little tough at first after some use they seem to work a little bit better. I do like that there were four keys supplied. That seems to be plenty. I think this was very good value for the money.

The lock fit great and was a better quality than the original. It comes with 4 keys but I am trouble getting more made.

Bought this because I broke the key on my last lock. Very impressed with how sturdy everything feels, especially the locking mechanism! Definitely happy with this replacement and how easy it was to replace.

The key tumbler came out of one of my old locks. I wanted two with matching keys that would last as long as the original ones. One great part about these is that they are all metal. They installed easily with just a screwdriver. However, within an hour I experienced the 'locked inside' issue others had described. My first thought is that all you need is a phillips screwdriver to get out. If you don't have a phillips screwdriver in your RV then you should get one. In my case, I had another door so I just used that one. Upon inspection, I found that the screws that hold the inner part of the latch to the outer component had come loose a bit. This allowed the tang on inner handle to pass the tang on the outer component. I backed the screws off a bit, re-positioned the inner handle, and tightened the screws again. This time I watched the outer component to be sure the gasket was compressed properly. Once it was, the two tangs cannot pass one another. We just got back from a week out and had zero issues during that week. The only downside I've run into is that mine came with zero grease. None on the bolt, none on the latch, none on the tumbler..... zero grease. Toward the end of the week the latch on the front door (the one we use the most) started to make a scrapping sound when it was used. When we got home I disassembled it, added a bit of grease to the bolt, latch, and tumbler and the problem was solved. I will be doing the same to the back door soon.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The lock is exactly as described. And it was so easy to install and it works great!! The only disappointment I have is that while Latch-It is an American company that may lead you to believe that the products are U.S. made, but they are not...they're made in China.
