Router for Home
It's a good router for home setup. It has a good range for around 1000 sq. ft. area. Setup was very smooth, I did it using laptop. All instructions are available on their website and once you start it, on-screen instructions are good enough to do the setup.

Worth an upgrade!
Bought this R7000 to replace a TPLink AC1200 type router which gave enough problems for me to look at an upgrade. So far so good. Prompt delivery, neat packaging, very easy to setup, register and activate warranty with Netgear. Nighthawk app is handy. Router hardware is rigid. Good quality eth. cable, power adapter. I have two laptops, four mobile phones and one TV on wireless plus one wired NAS - out of these, three devices would constantly stream video and a laptop on VPN all the time. Haven't had any slowness complaint, disconnects or streaming issues so far. All are on 2.4Ghz. I live in a ~1000 sq. feet apt. I still haven't got a chance to play with Dynamic QoS and Cloud storage.

Not plug and play with Etisalat!
Product was delivered on time perfectly. Unfortunately it is not plug and play with Etisalat. The dealers should not be selling these for home use. Now I have called Etisalat technician for support at AED 150 and do not know if they will connect at all. Do online research before you buy routers for use in UAE.

Works with no hiccups.
Worked since day one with no hiccups or interruptions yet. That's pretty much all I needed it to do in an work office setting. Option to have a guest wifi at the same time as your main wifi is very convenient and adds a layer of security for visitors to use your wifi without granting them access to your private network.

I have been getting fed up with the minimum spec routers that ISP's provide, in which they spin off as cutting edge amazing pieces of tech. However if you are wanting to do anything other than surf the web more than a few feet away, their limitations show. This router is certainly the first step for someone wanting to make a more robust home network. It is dual band, meaning it functions on the standard 2.4GHz range as well as 5GHz range. The advantage of the 5GHz range is that it has a higher bandwidth and so increases data transfer rates. This also helps with signal range within the house or property that you intend to use the device. Devices process and handle more and more data, as well as using more streaming and cloud based data, and a standard router from an ISP can rarely handle this effectively. This router was a breeze to set up, the initial instructions were straightforward, and once connected to my ISP's router and powered up, the software stage of the set up was also very easy, with the wizards catering for those with a basic IT/networking knowledge, as well as allow advanced users to setup and tweak their new network as they see fit. Whist this does not increase the speed of my internet connection itself, it does improve the efficiency of my devices, prioritising which devices get a greater proportion of speed dependant on the tasks being performed on them etc. The speed within my network has greatly improved, as now this device is the hub of my network, and so file sharing between devices, or syncing itunes from the PC via wifi to the appropriate device is very fast, as well as the WIFI printer being very responsive to printing and scanning tasks. You can also create a data cap for those with limited data packages, or create a guest network for when you have visitors whom you want to give internet access without access to the other devices on the network. The router also has a USB 3.0 port at the front and a USB 2.0 at the back, allowing for a high capacity USB stick to be plugged in creating a NAS drive, or plugging in a wired printer, making it WIFI. In laymans terms, this router is the air traffic controller for your network in your house, managing your network and keeping it optimally running. Definately worth investing in. I would say that the R8000 and higher rated routers would be overkill, unless you have the fastest internet connection money can buy, and you have 12 or more devices running at the same time that download/upload and perform various networking tasks at the same time. I am a heavy networking user and quite a few devices, PC's, Android, Apple, and I have yet to push this device to it's limit. Netgear have done a good just making this functional for advanced users as well as everyday users.

De momento, va como la seda. Aunque no he podido ponerlo muy a prueba: lo tengo como segundo punto de acceso y su toma de internet es de solo de 100mb/s, así que de momento el cacharro es bastante overkill.

I moved to a new house and the TP Link wireless N router I had was not streaming content to my TV reliably. I had poor signal and streaming dropouts. I have no such problems with this Netgear router. It was easy to set up and network traffic is three to four times times faster over wireless. I get a consistent 433Mbps connection to the router which is more than plenty for streaming 4K content. Speed over LAN seems quicker too but I haven't measured it. It cost a lot more than I usually spend on a router but it's worth every penny. The unit itself is larger than my previous router and has a "stealth bomber" look to it. The indicator lights are white LEDs and very bright so you may want to turn those off if you sleep in the same room. Altogether very pleased with it. Solved the problem I had and exceeded my expectations in terms of speed and range.

I bought this device with high hopes, but was disappointed. I bought 03 devices at once. Two of them stopped within a week.
