The sensor seems not to work, how can I detect by myself?

Second application, first time it worked well, but now it beeps two times a second, yet doesn’t detect even a direct stream of r-22 vapor. ??

Does this detect the smell of Freon refrigerant etc.? Or does it alert you for a leak if it feels air blowing on the sensor? Thank you

I am currently a student at a local college working on my last semester of refrigeration and air conditioning technology, I have used this sensor to detect R-22 and R-134a leaks and verified it with a much more expensive sensor. It works for these two refrigerants and yes, it detects the gas not just air. I also use soap bubbles once I have verified the location of the leaks. Best $20.00 I ever spent.

Will this unit detect R421a?

The product packaging specifically indicates it will detect R134a, R410a, R12, R22 and R600a (and I've only used mine for R134a), but I'm guessing it'll work with pretty much any commonly used CFC-based refrigerant.
