how does it attach to the machine?

Hello, Thank you for your question. The KLIM Cool + has a lower tray and several silicon adapters that let you position the device for optimal cooling. There are also rubber feet included in case you need to position it a bit higher than table level. Kind regards, KLIM Team

How does this attach to the laptop? Will it stay attached when moving around though the room with laptop in hand?

The KLIM is made to be placed on a flat surface. It does come with double sided tape so you can attach it to your laptop. I would recommend not attaching it. And walking around with it would not work because it needs to stay plugged in. I use mine flat on my desk sitting against the laptop, pushed firmly against it.
