I have a small mouth. Does this fit well with small mouthes? If its too big,can it be returned?

It has a tray that you bend to the shape of your mouth. Follow instructions to a tee and you'll be fine. I however experienced soreness while trying to mitigate TMJ so I stopped using it and learned to sleep with my mouth relaxed. As far as a return policy im pretty sure there isn't one.

Does this work good? Is it comfortable for a smaller mouth?

Yes, it sits on top of the teeth and would not interfere with braces.
