Easy to set up, great range, works perfectly
Worked absolutely perfect! Very easy to set up, plug & play! I bought the kit (main adaptor to plug into router and one extender) first, which gave great coverage then I purchased the single extra extender to give me better coverage upstairs and that also worked flawlessly. All connected together so easily. Bought to extend the WiFi range in an older house. Router was in front room but no WiFi in the kitchen in the back of house (same floor level) Plugged this in the hallway (main adaptor plugged in next to router) and I've got full WiFi on the entire ground floor of the house. Good connectivity, good WiFi strength. I use the tplink app and you can change all the settings on the extenders (password, name etc) Handy to have main adaptor with the plug socket in it too so you dont waste precious plug space.

Exceeded my expectations
Wow!! This is true magic - How it uses the electrical wiring to transfer data signals is a complete mystery to me, but it works, and it works really well. I didn't want to spent money and effort running ethernet cable to my garage (which already has electricity running in from the main house fuse box). So I took a chance on this powerline adapter, which had loads of good reviews that actually were related to the product and not some generic BS written by a bot. The instructions are pretty simple and it can even take on the same details as your existing wifi router, so you don't need to faff about with new passwords and wifi networks. Make sure the adapter and wifi extender are plugged into proper power sockets and not an extension cable. Connectivity and speed seemed really good, able to watch full HD movies with no drop in quality or glitching or buffering. The £70 I paid for this is way cheaper than buying the cable, laying it, an then buying and configuring another wireless router. If you need to extend your wifi coverage, I can reccommend this TP Link Powerline Adapter Kit

Wonderful piece of kit - 3 year review
EDIT after 3 years of usage: I can confirm it works ultra reliably. I get a stable 600-700Mbps over the wireline connection. One key factor is where you connect the devices, ideally they should be on a single ring with no spurs. Additional spurs of extension cables used in between deteriorate the signal, if you keep it in mind and plan accordingly then it works wonders. Not a single reboot needed in 3 years of constant use. I had honestly been sceptical about it working over the power cables, but it does work perfectly. Make sure you plug it directly into sockets and not via extension leads, especially if they are loaded with other devices as the speed may drop significantly (or not be able to connect at all), so rather run a longer Ethernet cable to the nearest socket than an extension lead from it. Note that you need the main unit connected to your router, and the secondary unit (or several units) where you want it in your house. I can achieve close to the nominal 1Gbps when they are on the same ring, and slightly less when on different circuits. It works for me accross circuits but I suspect that it may to some extent depend on your fuse box, the manual recommends of course connecting both to the same circuit which indeed works best. One additional good thing is that, unlike typical wireless extenders, the primary and secondary units do not communitate wirelessly so do not cause extra interference of use up the bandwidth. Having said that, you have 1 Gb Eth port to use, but can also use built in 2.5 and 5GHz Wifi as either an extension of your home network, or as a separate network. Setup is easy, you can just plug them in and they work. You can additionally pair them (which you might want to do to avoid others trying to connect) by just pressing a button on each device, and clone your main wifi settings by pressing another button and the WPS button on your router - which you can use to extend your Wifi network. No need to connect to it to configure anything - but if you want to, you can do so via an app, web interface (via its wifi), or desktop tool. You can configure quite a lot of things actually such as MAC filtering etc. if you wish. Highly recommended.

When it works
So the effectiveness of this depends on how good your electrical wiring is around your house. Fortunately for me, it works really great and now I have internet in my shed outback. I placed the adapter into the same room as my router, plugged it into the router using the provided ethernet cable. Then placed the wifi extender to the closest room to my garden. Wifi reach is really great. My broadband speed is 100Mbs, in my shed I can get 50Mbs from the 5ghz signal. I also bought another pair and placed the adapter in the shed and used an ethernet to plug it into my console which now gets a consistent 70Mbs. Works great for multiplayer games! Now, the reason for not giving it 5 stars is that when I tried setting up my second wifi extender, it only stays connected for 10 minutes or so before disconnecting from the powerline network and reconnecting! Even though they boast that you can extend the powerline network with many extenders, that wasn't the case for me. Support is not very helpful either as this issue seems really common if you google it and find the tp link forums.

love this (just what i needed)
well done TP-link, I have an old adapter which I combined with this and I found that it had decent connectivity and brilliant signal strength, easy to install as small amount of steps, but the instructions don't go into too much detail, good if you just want to connect one or two devices two it but if you want to have 3+ connected at a time, you will need to invest in the TP-link deco or the AV2000 model- the faster model. feels like well designed, but don't install in a bedroom as the 3 possibly 4 lights stay on all the time.... I personally use this for cloud gaming and streaming and for one device it works extremely well also i waited 2 months before writing this review and my product has not degraded at all.
