Can this be used with a 4-1/2" circular saw for rip cuts ?

No, this is not suitable for use with a circular saw. If you want to do rip cuts then you need product 542006 which is our saw plate, as well as 542007, our rip guide. If you have any other questions, please email info@affinitytool.com. Thank you.
