Can it be pressure mounted? The companies website says "Freestanding and Pressure Mount gate. Two capabilities, one gate!" but I want confirm.

how many inches does it expand?

The wooden part of the gate is approx 67 in at its widest point. The legs also account for a few inches. I open it all the way and use it to perfectly secure an archway between 2 rooms. The arch is approx 69.5 in wide.

How wide is the space between each slit?

Space is 2 inches between slits! 🙂

Does it swing open or slide open?

There is no way to open this pet gate. You can side it across the floor or lift it up to let your pet out.
