## Description

The My Weigh KD-8000 Digital Food Scale is the perfect scale for kitchens with a removable protective LCD display cover, as well as three soft protective LCD display covers that help protect against weighing messes such as recipes, candle-making, spills and more! The My Weigh KD-8000 is a new version of My Weigh’s top selling kitchen scale, updated with baker’s math and percentage weighing.

Review: Very accurate and quick - I recently got into soap making and tried several different scales but I could not find one that was accurate at all. Pros: I’m very pleased With this scale because of the accuracy and the speed in which it records the weight. It has a faceplate on the front of the controls that you lift up and down to keep it clean of oils or whatever you’re weighing. It is removable if you want to remove it. I prefer to keep the faceplate on because I tend to be a little messy at times. The things that I love about the scale is that you can plug it into an outlet and not have to use batteries if you do not want to or you can just use batteries. Please note: the plug needs to be unplugged from the scale in order for the batteries to work. Not a big deal though. Another great thing is there is a feature where you can set the scale to NOT “time out” and turn off. It’s so frustrating to be measuring something and then take a minute to open another ingredient to add to the weight and it already timed out. It’s stressful and annoying. The last thing that I love about the scale is it’s extremely quick and accurate with its measurements. The price point is good. Cons: it does suggest to calibrate the scale but it does not come with a calibration weight. In the directions it’s says to calibrate with a 5kg weight so that’s 11.02 in US pounds. Obviously they are not going to send a 11.02 pound weight. The scale measures grams so a 2 oz weight with the scale would have fixed this situation. It wasn’t a deal breaker for me but someone that buys this for baking may feel differently. The scale is extremely lightweight, plastic feel if you will. Seems like everything is now anyway. I was surprised at first by its weight but didn’t let it bother me after I started using it and was happy with its speed and accuracy.

**Q: Is this accurate to 0.1 oz or 1 g?**
A: These are accurate to +/- 1.5 grams in my experience. Generally speaking, if it has a 1g resolution, it will be less precise than +/- 1g...it's the nature of load sensors. I'd get a KD-5000, where it displays .1g resolution, then you'll see accuracies of better than 1g resolution.

**Q: Will it measure in pounds ?**
A: Absolutely.  You can easily switch between pounds/ounces and kilos/grams

**Q: Is it a "knock-off"?  does not have my weigh logo on unit like those on my weigh website**
A: On the My Weigh page it indicates there is an updated version - so I wonder if this is the 'old' version.

**Q: is the stainless weighing platform removable for cleaning?**
A: Yes the stainless weighing platform is removable for cleaning. But the scale reading starts from 2grams, and then increments of 1 gram. It NEVER reads the first gram which is 1gram, it starts reading from 2 grams. Too bad.When buying make sure you buy the same product for $37.98 "Kitchen Scale - Bakers Math Kitchen Scale - KD8000 Scale by My Weight, Silver". The Seller/My Weigh didn't send me the AC Adapter along with my scale "My Weigh KD-8000 Kitchen And Craft Digital Scale + My Weigh AC Adapter". Of which it is clearly stated in the name that it comes with an AC Adapter which is why it goes for $49.98. I severally contacted the Supplier/My Weigh about this, they ignored my messages till Amazon intervened. They then responded saying the scale doesn't come with an AC Adapter but that they'll send me one. Ok, why deceive innocent buyers saying it comes with the adapter as indicated by the name and description? And it costs much more, whereas one could easily buy the AC Adapter meant for it from same Supplier/My Weigh for less than $5.I hope this helps.

This is the best scale I have found! The footprint isn’t that much larger than my Salter scale but it looks larger because it’s taller. I was able to extend the shut off to 5 minutes which is a huge help. It works fast and exactly as I had hoped.
