Melipone Mexican Vanilla is an authentic seventy-five year old Mexican formulation that is made in New Orleans by Chef Reginald. It is named after the Mexican Melipona bee which pollinates the vanilla orchid. In Mexico, as in other warm climates, consumers demand more vanilla flavor intensity. This concentrated vanilla is 3 to 4 times stronger than ordinary vanilla and has a full-bodied, rich and creamy taste. Its unique formulation has a distinctive and delicious flavor and aroma which is retained at high baking temperatures as well as at the sub-zero temperatures of ice creams. It is especially delicious when added to coffee, puddings, waffles or pancakes. Return Policy: Once food products are shipped they are non-returnable.

Best vanilla for baking - I starting using it for holiday treats and won't use anything else.
I actually purchased a couple of other 'high end' vanilla extract products when I wasn't able to get this at my local grocer. When those couldn't compete, I searched the internet. The main drawback is expensive shipping so I'm hoping that my local grocer carries it again.

The Best Vanilla to Buy
This by far is the best tasting vanilla for baking. It is rich and not overpowering, but will give you the right blend .

perfect vanilla
Hits every note just right. Why buy this instead of what you can get at the supermarket? Well, if you're on this page, reading this review, you know why. The supermarket vanilla is fine, lots of people use it, you probably grew up with it, but you're here because you're looking for something else. The description of this vanilla is accurate. But here's a suggestion: do a taste test comparison with friends. Popovers are a great recipe to try this with, because they can be made plain or with vanilla (or other flavors, but for this case, vanilla). You'll need a popover pan, but they're cheap (and you're looking at more spendy vanilla). If you're looking at this vanilla, you probably know your oven pretty well. Make a plain batch, and make a vanilla batch, divide it in half, and flavor one half with the supermarket vanilla and the other half with this one. If you can't tell the difference, stick with what you can get in the supermarket, or try a Tahitian vanilla for a more floral note. I was introduced to Mexican vanillas by the Vencedora brand (and loved it), but did not want to buy a large size. That lucky fluke led me to try this, and I am very happy with it. Bon appetit!

Worth the cost
The taste of this vanilla is unsurpassed. Makes a huge difference in the taste of anything you cook or bake. First time I used it, everyone commented on the different taste of my cookies. The only thing I did different was used the Ronald Reginald's Melipone Mexican Vanilla. Won't use anything else now.

Taste and Aroma are worth the price. Reviews on this product were accurate.
Had to really force myself to spend this much for vanilla, but wow, what a difference it makes over the big store brands, even other brands of Mexican vanilla we've purchased in the past. We baked quick breads, cookies and small cakes for Christmas gifts using this vanilla, and the reviews from friends and family have been fabulous. When mixing and during baking, we thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant aroma. Bite the bullet and try this vanilla, you will be happy you did. We will definitely be a repeat customer.

I love Ronald Reginald's, and this bottle is value!
Last year I was looking to replace my empty bottle of Ronald Reginald's but the seller on Amazon was saying wouldn't ship to California so I bought some other brand, which I didn't like as well. Recently I checked again and found this bottle - a big one, not the small one like I' had. And they would ship here. I jumped on it.. I love this brand of Mexican Vanilla. Can't say I've tried many other brands other than that other one that I didn't like as well. Mexican Vanilla still isn't what I would use in every day baking, but for some things it converts them into tasting like heaven!

Just outstanding flavor dimension!
I originally bought this lovely vanilla in New Orleans on a cooking/restaurant tour, and was immediately hooked! The fragrance, the flavor, you will definitely appreciate the difference! I put it in my oatmeal, just love it. My friends definitely noticed a difference in my oatmeal cookies! I give bottles of this Ronald Reginald Mexican vanilla as gifts, creating new fans! Glad I discovered it a few years ago!
