**Q: Where can I get resin and what do I buy?**
A: Lots of places sell it in raw form which is by far the cheapest way to go as "the stuff ain't cheap"! Do an internet search for DI resin and you'll find several vendors. Some sell a whole cubic foot and it's $200-300 or so and will refill this kit numerous times, probably more than you need so look for a deal on like 1/4 or 1/2 cubic foot which should hold you for a couple years. You'll need the "mixed bed resin".

**Q: filtered pressure very low, removed regulator and better now, is that ok? plus I believe inlet fitting bad cause cannot stop the leak?**
A: The Spot Free Car Rinse works because the mixed bed resin removes the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the water. TDS is things like calcium, that leaves spots when the water dries. For the resin to remove the TDS, the water must flow slow through the resin. If you remove the Flow Regulator, the resin will not absorb all of the TDS and you will still have spots on your vehicle. You need to keep the Flow Regulator installed. Regarding the leak, do you mean where your garden hose attaches to the unit? If so, we suggest trying some Teflon tape to stop any water from leaking.

**Q: Does the water flow through the cartridges simultaneously or in series?**
A: The water flows through the cartridges in series to allow more time for the water to interact with the mixed bed resin.

**Q: Can this be used as a hard water filter for my dishwasher?**
A: No. Use an inline water filter for a refrigerator ice maker for that purpose.

I've had a pressure washer hooked up in my garage for years. When I go to wash vehicles it's always ready, just hit the button and blast. And then when I got introduced to using a deionized rinse I saw life getting even easier by eliminating the most "work intensive" step...the drying! I wanted something just as simple but also effective, something I can get several uses from before having to recharge, not take up a lot of space and something that I could recharge using bulk resin because I hate the idea of buying throw away canisters and paying 4 or 5 times as much for the material which is already expensive. Also, I wanted it to be easy to see how my resin is holding up. This unit accomplishes all of that. I can recharge the existing canisters keeping costs down, one glance and I can see how resin is holding up and the whole thing mounts on the wall and takes up minimal space. And all that for under a hundred bucks (and about $25 in PVC)! So far I've washed my truck about 3 times and my car twice and used maybe 3/4" of resin. I don't know how my water rates for contaminates (I'm on town water) but I can say it looks like I'm going to at least get the entire season out of this before having to refill the canisters. And it does work just like they say, after washing and rinsing a vehicle I just give it one last rinse with the DI water and walk away. It actually dries more spotless than using a chammy which still can leave streaks. One cloudy day (about all we get here in upstate NY lately!) my truck sat in the garage and took over a day to finally dry, yet, not one single water spot! Update: It's been a year now and I can report, as I was hoping, the canisters did - albeit barely - last the entire season! My bag of resin came in last week, I'm about to refill them for this season. Looks like I'll get several refills (seasons) out of this $60 bag. For what I have invested this has been a most worthwhile acquisition, love the way this works!
