Excellent Laptop
I've been very happy with this laptop. It's fast, and the screen is very good. It's just the right size and has a numeric keypad, which is important. I've used smaller screen laptops in the past and after a while you go blind. This one is a little heavier than my full solid-state one, but it's great for working at home.

and it will only get worse with time
Do a little bit of research on this computer before buying it, this computer is known to have the error Driver_Power_State_Failure when playing any games, and it will only get worse with time. I have personally experienced this issue and have found numerous complaints on various forums as to why it is happening. Unfortunately no legitimate solution has been found. If you're not using this computer for gaming or intensive programs like adobe premiere pro (also crashing it) you should be fine to use it for basic internet browsing and office and so on. Going to return this comp because it clearly has some issues.

Poor form design on an otherwise good laptop
Internally, it's pretty good, runs everything great, including games. It's the external package that I have a lot of problems with. First, the inside edges of the laptop are rather sharp. Not especially comfortable to use for any extended time. The buttons under the touchpad have high resistance and don't seem to disable the touchpad above the button when it's held down. Drag & drop is almost impossible using the buttons. And maybe it's just me, but the positioning of the buttons makes using my thumb (which I've been doing for years with other laptops) completely unworkable. If I didn't use a USB mouse for anything requiring precision, this would be reason enough to return the whole thing. The graphics cooling reaches capacity at a relatively low ambient temperature when in use, maybe somewhere in the upper 70s, and when it does, parts of the keyboard become painfully hot to touch. That might have bad long-term consequences for the laptop, but the scorched fingers are my main problem now. The screen is also super reflective, so you have to have the brightness turned up pretty high when there's any light behind you at all. That may be unavoidable with a touchscreen, but it really bugs me since I think a touchscreen on a standard laptop is a stupid waste. So I'm pretty disappointed. What could have been a great laptop suffers from major usability problems entirely down to how the case was put together

Mostly Great
The computer is quality. I really like the keyboard, and the touch-pad is more bearable than most laptops. The touchscreen is nice and responsive, and the graphics are nice. The Sleep N' Charge is convenient, as well as the 3 USB 3.0 ports. The speakers aren't loud per se, but is very nice in quality. The hinges are really satisfying, as I can open the laptop with one hand, a single finger even. The brushed aluminum is beautiful, but appears dirty with one's fingerprints really quickly. The computer is fast and the dual storage options/methods is nice. However, the Solid State Drive has proven problematic. It has fast boot speeds, and my software is quick. Yet there are times when I start software that the computer will restart due to a DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE as a result of an SSD failure. This is surprising coming from a Samsung SSD, yet has been a persistent problem. This has happened when launching software from both the SSD and the hard drive. There seems to be a problem with the processing of information from both types of storage. All in all, the computer is a powerful and satisfying purchase, and would be exponentially better in my eyes if the dual storage problem weren't an issue.

Build quality is overrated, flimsy plastic, HDMI port died
HDMI port died after 3 months, have to send it in for repair. Toshiba said they wont cover the cost at the local service shop that THEY recommended I use. I had mixed feelings about this laptop to begin with, but for the price the specs are good, really wish it just worked.

I have mixed feelings about this laptop because I had a factory problem and had to return it. The problem was that about two weeks after using it, suddenly a black line of dead pixels appeared on the screen. It was such a bummer because the laptop itself was great. It has very nice specs and was even faster than my desktop. The screen (before it broke down) was beautiful even for just FullHD. The only problem I had was that it became pretty hot when running games. Since the whole body is metallic, the heat propagated through the keyboard and that was a concern. But that can also mean that because of the metallic body, the heat dissipates faster than with plastic computers. Overall, I only give 3 strars because I had that screen problem and could not enjoy it any longer.
