. Review: Excellent - I was 17 years of age when Harry Belafonte performed this concert at Carnegie Hall. Our family had purchased the (2) vinyl record album of this performance. Unfortunately, after myriad playings, the records just wore out. Over the years, I have recalled the special joy that his songs have have brought to me. When I saw it available on desertcart.com (although it was probably available before I purchased it), I sent for it. It was through a gift card that I made the purchase. OK - enough rambling - I would definitely rate this performance a five star. If I could rate it higher, I would say a perfect "10". This man had (has) a voice to not be equaled. There were so many wonderful songs in the performance, that it is very difficult to point out any in particular. Of course, I have my favorites, but they are too numerous to list. I am a teenager of the 1950's, and I must reiterate that Harry Belafonte was one of the most entertaining singers I ever had the pleasure of hearing. I now have the CD, and I listen to it any time I feel the urge for such wonderful music and lyrics. Please purchase this CD performance if you can. It is so relaxing a way to spend an evening. I grew up with this album and felt I was sitting in Carnegie Hall listening to him. His best work in my opinion.

Yes it's complete album
I noticed some reviewers said the last song, Matilda, is missing but my cd had every song as listed. Takes me back to my childhood when my parents played Belafonte albums all the time. Beautiful voice, wonderful entertainer and human being. RIP 🙏

Wonderful memories.
I first heard this album back in 1962. I loved it then but never bought it. I decided to treat myself, so I bought the disc. Just as great as I remembered!

One of the all-time best live albums.
This is an amazing concert. I feel like I am sitting 10th row center. The soundstage is fantastic. And even though this is a CD, it is not harsh or too bright, but warm. I have a lot of concerts on CD, vinyl and dvd. During 2020 Covid, I bought this and other concerts, so I could feel like I actually left my house. This concert really does transport you to Carnegie Hall. I will likely but this on vinyl as well someday; it's that good.

Bring Carnegie Hall into your home. Recording is great. This is a wonderful music experience. Belafonte in 1959... only problem is at least 4 songs were trimmed from the original release on vinyl. What you do get is excellent. (Unpaid review)
