While cleaning out my attic. I found a old set of mid 90's 3-way optimus speakers. The drivers were shot and they didn't have any crossover at all. So I gutted them cleaned up the cabinets reinsulated added 3-way crossovers replaced the tweeters ,midrange and got these 8 inch woofers. Everything fit perfect . The hardest part was replacing the grill fabric. It cost me about $200 for everything and now I have my Frankenstein speakers that sound just as good as my klipsch tower speakers at a quarter of the price. Great tight bass from a sealed speaker box coupled with a 10 inch subwoofer and I have all the bass I'll need.

Very happy with the results. I have 20 year old Jamo D590 speakers. Sounded great once upon a time but the woofers were clearly tired and "crackled", even though there was no sign of damage to the cones or the surrounds. The Jamos have 8" down-firing woofers. I went for this model woofer because my amp is high power (300W into 4 ohms) and the speakers are rated for 200/280 watts short/long term. The result is very pleasing. Nice tight bass, and still detailed.

Takes a bit to warm up. But i got it sounding great. Built a box and salvaged a powered amp from an old theatre box. Running on only 50w, its doing rather well.

I have had these Nuance tower speakers for twenty years. The 8” woofer was cooked in one of the towers so I did some homework and ordered two Goldwood 8” speakers. After a brief break in period, I let my Harmon Kardon amplifier make these things scream. I have been involved with sound my entire life. I have never heard such an incredible sound come out of an 8” mid bass woofer. These beefy little 8” mid bass speakers are such an incredible purchase for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend purchasing Goldwood speakers. The quality is outstanding and they do not disappoint. You will be very impressed.
