Awesome Quality ... will continue to buy this
I purchased my first spool of Hatchbox PLA which was supposed to be +\- 0.05 accuracy but instead I received +\- 0.03 version. I have done some sample caliper measurements and it's true to the label. I'm certainly not going to penalize Hatchbox for whomever shipped the product, but wanted to disclose that my review is based on what I did receive, For reference, I am printing on an AnyCubic Predator. Quality: Good quality prints at up to 60mm/s speed. I usually print at 40 mm/s which is slow but good balance between speed and quality. The details as you can see in the benchy (lone pic) and the in-process print is good. The only thing I found strange is that the spool edges don't have a lip which means you need to take special care in clipping the filament for storage (I don't like using the holes as you end up wasting filament). Not enough of a reason to penalize the filament, but thought it is worth mentioning. I print with hotend at 200C which is a good balance between speed, strength a quality for this PLA. I have hotbed set at 60C and am getting great adhesion without using any foreign substances like glue, hairspray or tape. I always use skirt but always try to avoid brims/rafts if possible and this adheres well enough, even on small parts that i am able to mostly just use skirts. I print most things at 0.15 resolution using a 0.4mm brass nozzle and I haven't had any clogging and I'm able to capture nice details in things with this PLA. Strength: While I haven't done any scientific measurements of strength, I print all functional objects that get used. So far I've not had any failures, even on parts for my 1:28 RC car where parts are very small and I drive it aggressively. some other things I've used are bag clips, small storage containers, and other misc functional items Colour: the colour on the label says True White and I can say that it is truly white. I've included a pic of 2 benchies side by side and the one on the left is the Hatchbox PLA being reviewed here. As you can seem it is a good white that isn't yellowish. Time will tell if it changes, but so far so good. I don't paint any of my printed objects and prefer printing in either white or black and this is a nice clean white. My only complaint is that it is a little bit more expensive than other brands but I don't mind paying for quality. I like it so much I have this on subscription buy and will continue to buy it as long as it stays consistently good which it has been so far.
