How do you program if the old remote is not working (went through a washing machine cycle)?

You will need to replace the remote and reprogram it.

May I replace my somfy 74300 remote with this one?

74300 is not a part number, it’s the zip code of Somfy’s headquarter in France. This remote you are asking about will work with any Somfy RTS motor.

Can the telis 1 patio be paired with my single channel somfy remote to operate a single motor screen? or do i need telis 4?

Yes a 1 channel Patio remote can be paired from a standard Telis 1 remote.

My patio remote has stopped working. What supplies its energy? Battery?

Actually, I returned this lovely remote because I found the cause for my outdoor retractable awning not working was a "dead" motor and the remote was just fine.
