I want to use this in a tarantula terrarium, but not if it's laced with chemicals.** A: If you want to lace moss in wirh your tarantulas, I would suggest ground moss. This type of moss is safe for frogs, tarantulas and salamanders. I have 2 tarantulas & the ground moss does a great job keeping Pink-Toe Tarantula’s humidity at a safe & comfortable setting. Spanish Moss is mainly used to hold moisture for potted plants by having it placed underneath or on top to help keep the moisture in the soil. In an enclosure, the dampness could cause serious problems. This why I suggest ground moss.
