Review: I don't know why this surprised me because I have yet to find an NYX product I dislike, but I really think is awesome! I had never heard of a moisturizing primer but I desperately needed one. I'm 30 and my skin is changing a LOT. I used to have oily skin but find now that I am very dry. I use the Too Faced foundation and it just left me looking very matte and flat which I didn't like. But, since I got a few bottles of the foundation and a few different colors and never got to return any, I was determined to make it work! I also use the Smashbox original primer which is silicone based and that alone left me feeling blah, but works! I sometimes use this over the Smashbox primer or use this alone. Don't forget the skincare under your makeup is SO important to how your makeup will look. So I typically use: either a hyaluronic acid serum or a light oil on my skin first, then Neutrogena Hydroboost gel cream for extra dry skin. Let your moisturizer sit for a bit, then apply sunscreen, I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid (I have sensitive skin and this does NOT bother my eyes at all + sits well over skincare & under makeup.) After doing my skincare I apply this product on top, I rub it in and pat it in some areas and it's like another surge of moisture, it feels amazing! It is cooling, calming to any flared up skin, I can add some below my eyes (just over the dark circles area not right up to my eyes) and it really does feel fantastic!! It feels like it almost has some hyaluronic acid in it to plump up your skin, but I'm not sure if it does or not. For anyone who thinks they have too dry of skin, they're too old for primers, or whatever issue your skin may have this stuff will work for you! I don't see it being a problem even on combination skin, or possibly even oily skin types. It isn't oily, greasy, or dewy in the sense that makes you feel like an oil slick. It does dry to a nice finish that I honestly think any age group would love. It also makes a great mid-day pick me up. Just get a few dots on your fingers and pat it on, don't rub since you don't want to smear that beautiful makeup, for an instant refresher! It does to help makeup last as well, especially when used in combination with another primer or a finishing spray but I don't think those are necessary. This stuff does a great job on it's own. My make up last all day specially eye shadows. **Q: Does this primer work with mineral makeup like bare minerals powder foundation? Im looking for a primer that works well with powder foundation** A: Honestly this is the best primer that has worked for me. It smells great too! I don’t use bare minerals but I do use powder and it works well for me! I also put a moisturizer on and let it dry before applying the primer. **Q: Will this hold my foundation in place while sweating in very hot weather?** A: No one product will help with that completely unfortunately. You will definitely need a primer, however I haven't tried this one yet so I can't speak to it's staying power, but I really suggest using long-wear specific makeup, and ideally a few different products to extend the life of your makeup. I recommend you try a prep spray- try the NYX one in the white bottle! , a primer such as this, a long-wear foundation like Revlon's pro long wear, or Estee Lauder Double Wear, then a translucent setting powder, and a setting spray. That's the ideal way to make your "face" last through it all. If nothing else, a bare minimum of a primer (& let it soak in a min or so) and set it with loose powder! Hope that helps a bit!
