Grest tool!
Fantastic tool. It has enough weight behind it to do some work but remains effectively precise. Coupled with the matching chisel, it effortlessly split a fairly large boulder. Great addition for rock hounding!

Solid hammer for fossilhunting
Lovely hammer, survived many fossil hunting trips, used for cracking rocks and sifting through mud, without fail. Picked the longer one which is good for reach (and helping to stand up from crouching), but it is quite heavy to carry around. So unless you expect to need the extra oomph from heavier head and longer hammer consider getting the 14oz one.
