How many boxes would I need for a Ford transit mk6 minibus

You would need around 5 boxes of material (a total estimate of  17 sqm) to cover the floor (apply long narrow strips in between the  ribs), double the layer on the rear wheel wells (from interior side),  apply long strips to the roof from the interior side and apply some to  the wall panels, specifically to the sheet metal tiles in between the  ribs-columns. You might need an additional box for the cab if you decide  to soundproof it as well.  It is worth mentioning that you'd need to do  100% coverage on the floor, roof if you are after maximum effect as  those are the most important areas.
Make sure to roll every piece of it with a roller and clean/degrease the surface prior to installation. Wear gloves!

Is this water and oil resistant?

Hi Gary, This is designed for inside panels not exterior i.e. under bonnet etc. Having said that, oil and water does wipe off the surface easily. The advantage using this over older soundproofing is water will sit on top of the surface rather than soak through rotting floor panels etc. Works well on noisy washing  machines too. Would 1 box  be enough for the cab in a VW T4

Accepted Answer

It will depend on how much you cover. As it helps prevent panel noise and vibration You do not have to cover every inch of the cab. If you are doing floor, roof, bulkhead, doors etc and covering every inch then no it wont be enough. Basically it would cover 6ft width by 6ft length so would barely cover the floor/bulk head. Used sparing it may cover most of the cab.
