How wide is the base and the extensions?

Hi, Ok so I measured everything to give you an idea of what all comes in box.Gate Without Any Extensions:  26.5in width 30in heightGate with Small Extension: 33.5in width 30in heightGate with Bigger(longer) Extension: 38.5in width 30in heightLong Extension by itself:13.5in width 30in heightShort Extension by itself:8.5in width 30in heightGate with both Extensions: 46in width and 30in height(This makes total sense now if you add the pressure screw length to this this will give you about 51-52in.)4 Pressure Screws (all same size): 4.5 in length4 Circle/Flower Pressure Screw Tightening Knobs (all same size):1/2 in height4 Circle Wall Cups (all the same)1/2in height.There is a about 1in over gap on main gate on each side top and bottom for the extensions to overlay evenly when you put them on. This inch is included in width size above when I measured the pieces. First time commenting on here i would love to include pics but i do not know how to do so.Also they include 4 small screws to screw the 4 cups into the wall. You can use it without screwing them but seems more stable with doing so.Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info.

Can you use the gate without the wall cups screwed to the wall?

Yes, I use mine just pressure mounted - nothing screwed into the wall.  It works fine, although if you bump it, it can move slightly, so it has to be adjusted when that happens.  I've had one for a few years and bought a second one several months ago cuz I like it so much.  I have them on either side of our kitchen to keep our little dogs contained when we leave the house.  They work great.  :-)

will the gate be able to adjust to 48 inches exactly and also does it have to be screwed into the wall

The gate will barely adjust to 48 inches. There is a wide range that it will not fit, from about 43 inches almost to 48 inches.

Question 4

what is the gate opening size?.  Can I get a walker through it

Accepted Answer

No it will not.  The opening is only 16" and the smallest walker allowed for medical use is 22.5".  There is also a bar that extends axroos the bottom opening that would be a major tripping hazard.  Not to mention that while this a great for babies and small dogs any substantial pressure from the front or back will cause the gate to collapse as it is just pressure mounted.
