How comfortable is the pillow with over ear headphones on, such Bose or Sony

It comes up on one side of your face fairly high so it was a bit uncomfortable with my Beats over ear headphones. A smaller style might be ok but it didn’t really work with those.

Can you wash the whole thing and not just the cover? It has a horrible chemical smell that will not go away

Why is one side larger than the other (17cm vs 13cm)? Most people have symmetrical heads so this is confusing.
