Case of back luck but it seems bacteria were dead upon arrival - i tried dosing as per bottle instructions and there were no changes in nitrate levels over the course of 3 weeks.

The API QUICK START works like a charm! I used it when setting up a new aquarium, and it helped cycle the tank quickly with no ammonia or nitrite spikes. Super easy to use, and safe for fishāmy water stayed clear and healthy. Highly recommend for both beginners and experienced fish keepers!

It's Quickstart, it's API. It's not bad at all. It does what's supposed to do. Just add it during big water changes (30%+) and you are golden. Good to buy you some time when treating ammonia too.
