Great bang for your buck, but threading for bolt will wear over time.
Excellent bang for your buck, but if you are like me and take off the rack after each use, then the metal thread in the tower will strip over time.Pros:- Amazing price, especially compared to the Yakima and Thule options.- Comes with the lock and keys (my favorite feature). Other manufacturers sell them separately, but these come with which is awesome!- Works well. I used it to carry a heavy hand made wooden kayak, and always felt very safe and comfortable. The towers and bar feel sturdy.- Easy to install and uninstall on the car.Cons:- Even though all together the towers are of good quality, the quality/material of the threading in the tower itself is a bit disappointing. I had this rack for 2 years until the threading was no longer usable. I made a temporary fix by buying nuts that I could screw into, but then realized it was nearly possible to take off my car because the bolt would just spin and spin. Don't ask me how, it took hours, but I was able to take it off. Tried to fix this by epoxying the nuts onto the tower, but that didn't hold. It's a shame they don't have an easy fix for this, because otherwise the towers are in perfect condition.Oh well. I might still buy the 4 replacement towers. All together it will STILL be cheaper than getting a Thule or Yakima.

Good, Affordable Alternative to other Name Brands, Without Sacrificing Quality
These worked well in conjunction with the Malone kayak carriers I purchased. I have them on a 2015 Rav4 LE. I haven't used them to carry anything else, but I imagine they'd work well for bikes, etc. too. They are pretty easy to take on and off too. so I don't have to hurt my gas mileage when I'm not transporting the kayaks.Pros:Easy to put on and take offSecure (have locks and key)Fit wellMuch more affordable than other quality brands (Yakima, Thule, etc)ConsThe locks and screws don't stay in place when the bars are removed from the car, so you just have to be careful not to lose them when you remove the racks. I almost lost them the first time I took them off. Now I keep a small plastic bag in my car console and just keep them in that when I'm not using the racks so I know where they are.

Very reliable, sound system for the cost.
Product is a great savings and delivers on performance. I haul two kayaks and don't see any sag in the bars. Locking mechanism is sturdy and reliable. The only issue (and reason for 4 stars rather than 5) is that the plastic ends of the open beams can come off from time to time. You just can't beat the cost savings from ordering Malone. I'm so glad that I didn't spend 3-4 times as much for a name brand system that doesn't give any better performance. I considered ordering the aerodynamic wings to limit sound but, thankfully, I don't notice any significant sound while driving or hauling.

Good rack for the price
I bought these for a 2008 Honda Pilot with factory rails. I have owned Thule racks in the past and they do have more rubber and more grip on the rails but they cost much more than these. For the price, I would buy these again. A few things I noticed about these racks....another review recommended using the rubber spacers, and I agree. My rails are about 1.5 inches in width, so the instructions say that I don't need the spacers, but I use them anyway because they give a better grip on the rails. Also, if you leave the rack on without a load, they are quite noisy....One last thing ....these racks use an Allen wrench to tighten the rack to the rail. The manufacturer included a standard "L" shaped Allen wrench, and this tool is a bit of a pain in the **s to use because it gets a little pinched when tightening. It would have been much better if Malone would include a "T" handle shaped Allen wrench instead. This would make tightening and loosening the racks much easier.....I guess I'll have to buy one.

Does not fit my Jeep Renegade 2015 factory rails!
Bought after some research for my Jeep Renegade 2015 with factory roof rails. Couldn't find a review about specifically on amazon about that so took the risk. I even thought I saw a picture with a renegade and these bars installed. Received that bars and put the first one on - noticed I had to wind the feet fully back (any more and the screw would have fallen out). Put onto the bars and noticed some resistance, but I've fitted bars before with rubber pads and that's normal. To check, I removed the bars, again with some resistance, and noticed that the bars had badly scratched the roof rails. This is because, if pulled fully back, the rubberised feet go into the C-channel of the body of the foot, leaving metal proud to contact your rails. Metal on metal = scratches. Have already ordered replacements from a well known Swedish brand for more than double the money. If you own a Renegade that's the way to go.

Better than Thule and here is why,
I had the Thule 450 rack on my old car but bought this Malone system for my wife's Highlander. This system comes with everything Thule thinks you should buy separately; load bars, end caps for the load bars and lock cylinders, all at 1/3 the price. Quality is just as good too. I needed 78 inch load bars so I emailed the company in Maine and was helped by the owner himself. He sent them out to me the same day. Thats so good customer service if you ask me. I put 2 large Old Town canoes on this system and it worked flawlessly. All my Thule canoe and bike rack accessories fit on these load bars too.I really so no reason why I would buy the Thule 450 after using these. Unless you must have the Thule name on your car there is no better option. Thank you Mr. Malone!

Worth it, would purchase again
Works great and is easy to install. The 50" model fit perfectly. It took about half an hour to install on the factory rails of my 2005 Sport Trac. Take your time to install, the last thing you want is for your cargo to come undone when at roadway speeds. I have been using them with the TMS J-Bars loaded with kayaks and they are an excellent combination. The locks are smooth and secure and the adjustment screw under the lock is easy to adjust with the provided hex tool. When installed the bars do give just a slight amount of noise but nothing that would deter me from recommending them to others or ordering another set in the future.
