Made my own bike lock and cable setup
I decided that I wasn't comfortable with buying the combo lock/cable bike locks and made my own instead. I got a thick 3/8" Heavy Duty looped security cable here and then this Master keyed padlock to go with it. I did have to insert and reinsert the key into the brass mechanism a zillion times to get it smooth, but,... it's perfect now. Very pleased.

Laughably easy to pick, there are better locks out there at this size
This is supposedly a 5 on Master Lock's 1 through 10 security scale that they include on their product packing. It seems no more secure than the pink 146D padlocks that I have from them that are a 4. It looks tougher? Maybe that's worth a point? As a lock, it's only four pins and is very easy to pick. It's significantly better than the woeful brass 140D that they make which is vulnerable to combing and shimming. I wouldn't trust much of value to this padlock. If it's just a lock for the sake of any lock, it'll work. I picked up on sale, and recognize that it's hard to get a better lock at the price I paid. But I was only buying it as a lock to pick and play with. If I wanted to secure something of value, I'd likely spend a little bit more. Amazon sells Abus, American Lock and multiple other reputable brands that have sub-$20 offerings that will provide significantly more security than this lock.

Locks are ok. Keys are hard to get into the locks and turn though. Noticed this with both locks and keys. Says Master on it but quality is subpar imo. They work and do job ok, but you must fiddle with keys to get them to go in... overall, c+ grade.

Great first lock for anyone learning lockpicking
Bought this to be my first real lock that I'd pick after getting through one ones in my starter set. This lock feels good in my hand, and it was easy to pick with a snake rake. I haven't been able to single pick it yet but I'm bad at that.
