EDIT: I was disappointed with this produce at first but the more she worked with it, the easier it got. She just needed to get the hang of it. Changing my review from ⭐⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. My daughter is currently using it for the first time abs it's not working out well. The (fettuccini) noodles aren't separating properly and it's just generally awkward and difficult to use.

I had such high hopes for this. Despite the number negative reviews I thought I'd give it a try because ...after all this is Amazon and they'll return it. I bought it primarily to use on zucchini since I had a bumper crop this year. Here are the issues I encountered. 1. It takes some cumbersome manipulation to load the zucchini. The blade needs to be moved out of the way and locked. But the plastic blade guard would not stay on the blade. I did not cut myself this time but it would be easy to do if I used it a lot. 2. The "easy grip" handle consists of a bunch of blades that stick into the end of the zucchini. Those blades are also very sharp and they stick into only the seedy center of my large and medium size zucchinis. 3. You pull a little lock and release the blade against the zucchini and try to turn the handle and the only thing that happens is that handle turns inside the center of the zucchini and rips out all the guts at the end, so now you have no leverage to turn with. 4. So on to another zucchini... This one was a bit smaller in diameter with handle positioned on the stem end. Still, the spring in the blade is so strong that when you release it, it digs into the zucchini so hard that it stops it from turning. You can try to start it by putting your hand in the middle of the device and turning the zucchini itself but then you risk cutting yourself on the blade. Again...guts gone, no leverage. I did not try this on a zucchini of small diameter because I want large sheets like in the pictures. It might work on a small diameter uniform width zucchini. Probably would have to peel it first...which is why the pics don't show peel on the zucchini. In Synopsis... This thing does not work well on med & large zucchini. Which makes this device totally useless as far as I'm concerned. Anyone with a garden knows it's very difficult to get small zucchini... I only bought it to try something new with my bigger ones....the pictures were so convincing !

I really love this little foodie tool, and we are having a lot of yummy fun with it! The Vasta is really easy to use, and my husband and I have been making lots of yummy things with it! So far we've made Apple and Potato Roses in Puff Pastry (which I will be making again very soon!), Cucumber "Maki" Rolls filled with Tuna Ceviche, which were delicious, Cucumber Roll Appetizers filled with mozzarella, basil pesto, and prosciutto, and Zucchini "Fettuccine" Noodles, which we sauteed agli olio (in garlic and oil), and also served with tomato-sausage sauce and fresh herbs! And the things we've made were so pretty that I took photos! The Vasta is easy and safe to use, as the blade is hidden, and it is different from a Mandoline or a Spiralizer, as it makes sheets and flat noodles out of your veggies and fruits! It really is great if you want to get more veggies and fruits into your diet, as you can make veggie and fruit crepes, wraps, noodles, burritos, maki- all sorts of things!
